Our Dojo
Aikido Hombu Dojo Nigeria was established on the 23rd of November in
the year 2010 in Abuja, Nigeria. Aikido Hombu Dojo Nigeria strives to ensure that it's members are enlightened as they remain on the path of harmony. Students are guided into achieving enlightenment through “THE WAY” as taught by the founding father O’Sensei
Morihei Ueshiba. This is why our students are encouraged to practice Aikido with as many people as possible in order to feel different energies and learn to harmonize with all of them. These principles are practical principles which are applied in
the everyday life of the practitioner, encouraging a healthy, positive and
peaceful relationship with the environment and productive impact on the society
in the long run.
In Aikido Hombu Dojo Nigeria the major style of Aikido being practised is Iwamma Ryu style of
Aikido but other styles are also practised. However, due to the philosophy of the founding instructor Sensei Victor
Ephraim (Yondan), which is based on the concept of BUFFU IKKAN, other arts are
also taught alongside the basic Aikido art. Students are thereby encouraged to
experience training from different instructors over time in order to understand
different types of energies and build in themselves the concept of Takemusu
Aiki. We are currently affiliated with Aikido United International and International Aikido Academy.
